Camper Corner: A Note from Brad

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well at home. As you already know, the adjustment back to reality after being in sunny Santa Barbara for such a long time can be hard. But hey, at least you’re not in freezing England where my high of this past month has been buying a thicker blanket due to the arctic weather we’re currently having. Since being home, I’ve come to appreciate how much of an amazing time we had at camp. From the stunning walks to the beach, to the heavenly hikes around Santa Barbara, and to the literal breathtaking Ben-Fit workouts. But now that we’re back home, it’s time for us to all put the things we’ve learned at camp into our daily lives. For some of you this could be hard, and some it could be easy. But don’t let anything get between you and your goals.

The first thing I did when I landed back in England was go grocery shopping so I could continue the healthy eating. Then:

  • I also made a schedule of what I plan to do each day to maintain the lifestyle we had at camp.
  • This includes workouts, walks, runs and meals. I found this to be extremely helpful as it kept motivating me every single day, and if you haven’t yet, I recommend you creating a plan too.
  • On a weekly basis, I’ve also continued to run the timed mile.
  • And it’s awesome to keep track of your progress so you can see how far you’ve come! I recommend all of you doing the same thing as you will understand how great it is tracking progress.

I’m not going to lie.

I’ve been working my hardest to achieve my goals. But I’m not going to lie to you all, I’ve had a few “unhealthy” meals. I just don’t let it distract me from staying on plan, I get straight back on track. The worst thing to do is to keep regretting what you did.

Yeah you may have had a bad meal, or even day, but don’t be remorseful about it because that’s when old habits start to build up again. Take a deep breath, say what you did, and get straight back on track. Don’t let anything get between you and YOUR goals.

Just remember, don’t let others control your decisions and actions. This is your life, you make your own decisions. Don’t live your life trying to impress other people. Do what YOU want. Pave your own path to success and reach the goals that YOU want.
